I don’t know about you… but sometimes I get emails that make me 🙃😫😡🙄

Here’s the first of hopefully a series of fun emails and responses 🎉

What I wanted to reply: “No, since your student won’t be here for 6 instructional days, I will stop class. We won’t do anything of value or substance because I’d hate for them to miss out. Next time, you should take me with you to Hawaii exactly in the middle of two school breaks” 🤣

🏆 RECYCLING CONTENT WINS 🏆

If you’ve been around a while, you know that creating low prep cycles of activities is one of my favorite things. Why? Because I don’t have TIME for anything else. 🥱

Yesterday we introduced our password for the week and did some PQA with the first sheet. Simply listening to our classmates and recording what we heard. Today I wrote up some short stories using those observations from yesterday and we did sheet 2 with specific look fors in each story. As an exit ticket, students wrote a paragraph about themselves using the look fors.

Tomorrow we’re going to take those short paragraphs and create a gallery walk with them. Through this cycle we’ll have used ALL FOUR MODES of communication. And I will have only created 2 worksheets from templates I’ve used before (basically I just changed the look fors) and I starting question that I used for my password this week. 🏆

This is sustainable teaching. ♻️
